Costa Rica has 894 recorded species of birds - more than the U.S. and Canada combined. This is in a land area about the size of West Virginia. There are a LOT of birds here. For a while, it seemed that all of them congregated outside our window to perform a massive wake-up call. This happened every morning, around 5:30 - 6:00am - just as the sun came up. We always have the windows open, so we got to hear it loud and clear. Here is what it sounded like on one of the mornings:
If you listen closely, there are a BUNCH of different bird songs in the mix. One morning, the birds added a rhythm section, just for a little change:
I don't know what the sound level is on your computer speakers but to get the full effect of what we heard each morning, you need to turn the sound up LOUD!
I guess the lesson is that we should all be as excited about greeting each new day as God's creation is. After all, we're told "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.." Psalm 118:24
Unfortunately, the birds don't come with a snooze alarm...
