Mark & I are trying to decide whether we should get a car in the future or not. Cars are very expensive here and so is gas - about $6.50-$7.00 per gallon. The roads here are very windy and go up and down very quickly because it is mountainous. Cars drive very close together, very fast, and very few traffic lights. Getting into an accident might be likely and would be a whole lot of hassle. Having a car does give you freedom to come and go easily and transport items. Getting insurance and a license does take time and cost money. Buses and taxis cost money too but you leave the hassle of traffic and driving to someone else with a lot more experience in these conditions. Buses and taxis may take a bit longer, but does it save us in the long run. We don't know. We are keeping track of how much it cost for transportation with buses and taxis. Fortunately we don't have anywhere to be at a given time, so taking the bus or taxis will work for now.
